Fishing Holidays at El Figueral
El Figueral offers exceptional fishing on the lower River Ebro, renowned for its legendary catfish and carp. Enjoy private bank fishing from our olive farm or explore the river aboard one of our fully equipped boats.
Fishing
The stretch of the River Ebro from Flix to Benifallet to Xerta features clear, fast-flowing water with varied depths and abundant large, hard-fighting fish. Our section boasts deep holes, shallow gravel runs, and flows through a stunning gorge. This area regularly yields catfish over 100lb, with specimens up to 180lb, and carp reaching 40lb. Other species include Crucian Carp, Rudd, Chub, Zander, and Barbel.
We provide both bank and boat fishing, along with expert advice on techniques and prime locations. While many methods can be effective, your personal goals, chosen techniques, surroundings, and local regulations all shape your experience and enjoyment on this remarkable river.
Bank Fishing
Quality bank fishing on the Lower Ebro is rare, but at El Figueral, we offer 300 meters of private riverbank, comfortably accommodating 6-9 anglers in a safe, productive environment. Access to the swims is via steps carved into the steep banks, which provide shade and shelter from the summer sun.
The Pump and the Rock swims are positioned on large eddies, ideal for shelter and feeding fish. The Pump swim ranges from about 36 feet at one end to 12-17 feet at the other, while the Rock swim offers 20-30 feet of water directly in front, sloping steeply from the bank.
Boat Fishing
We offer both guided and self-hire boats available for daily or weekly rental. Hiring your own boat allows you to experience the river and its wildlife from a unique perspective and access fishing spots unreachable from the bank.
Riverside Caravan
Our Riverside caravans are fully equipped with everything for your stay, sleeping 3 (max 4) anglers in comfort. Because this is a remote, environmentally sensitive area, there are no external ablutions; however, our caravans support closed wastewater and cassette chemical toilet systems, maintained by staff for your comfort. We offer 2-night, 3-night, 7-night, and extended bespoke packages.
Campervan Pitches
Our 3 pitches are located close to the river for anglers and nature lovers. They have an electric hookup and access to filtered water (not for drinking). Campervans should have closed-system onboard ablutions. Entrance to the Property restricts the size, campervans should not exceed Length: 5.24m – 6m, Height: 2.25m – 2.82m (fixed high-roofs), and Width: 1.9m – 2.5m (including mirrors).
Angling Experiences
Discover our excellent swims on our private stretch of the Ebro, offering expert tips and tranquil surroundings for every angler. If you prefer to travel without your tackle, we can provide hire, including chairs, pods, landing nets, unhooking mats, gloves, scales, and bait. We can also arrange boat rentals and secure the necessary fishing licenses, which are mandatory for fishing on the river.
